What is Stand in the Gap?
Stand in the Gap is a fast-moving, half-day online event for committed Christ followers considering serving as Navigators Field staff. Personal staff stories, engaging videos, and live presenters will paint a compelling picture of the heart and vision for the contribution Navigator staff can make.
Each participant will:
- Learn about the broader Navigators, including our Calling and how people can contribute as a full- or part-time Navigator staff or as a Navigator associate
- Interact over the processes of joining us: application, acceptance, onboarding, fundraising, training, and more
- Begin engaging with a Pathway Coach who will answer their specific questions and walk with them, as needed, through the process of becoming Navigator staff
Most importantly, staff candidates will be introduced to the breadth of Kingdom opportunities and needs teams of Navigator disciplemakers are involved in across the United States and the world, as well as a few urgent “gaps” we’re praying God would provide new staff to “stand in” today!
Encouraging disciplemakers to attend Stand in the Gap can be an important step toward recruiting them to join staff. Please pass on a personal invitation and registration link to friends & co-laborers you’d like to consider serving with us as Navigator staff.
Who should be invited to Stand in the Gap?
Consider inviting disciplemakers to Stand in the Gap who:
- Demonstrate love for God, initiative toward people, and a heart for disciplemaking
- Are open to and considering Navigator staff but haven’t yet decided
- Could be available to join staff in the next nine months
- Are open to raising support from donors to be full- or part-time salaried Field staff . . . or are considering Associate staff with a specific role and supervisor in mind
Note: In general, we’re encouraging Collegiate leaders to use their own regional recruiting event for current students who are being specifically recruited to EDGE Corps. Stand in the Gap recruiting events are great alternatives to serve students interested in other parts of The Navigators or those alumni considering an early or midlife career change.
